Babysitting Guidelines
Please note that this is a service for evening babysitting. For daytime childcare, emergency or temporary, please call or email us.
- Coralis Childcare Agency is acting as an employment agent and will find or seek to find babysitters for families who subscribe to their babysitting service.
- All of our registered babysitters have been interviewed, have experience in babysitting/childcare and would be available to start a booking usually after 6pm or 6.30pm as they work during the day.
- A babysitter is not allowed to give out her mobile number. Contact with a babysitter must be made through the agency; when she is looking after the children in your own home, please contact her on your house phone if there are unexpected delays etc.
- Membership fees. The booking fee is £15 per booking. Alternatively, you can opt for the annual membership of £150 which offers you access to an unlimited number of bookings.
- The Booking fee is payable each time a babysitter is arranged, unless you have taken an annual babysitting membership.
- Babysitting rates. All bookings are for a minimum of 4 hours and you pay the sitter for any fractions of an hour rounded up to the next half an hour. Your sitter will have her own transport so there are no additional travel costs. Hourly rates are £7 an hour up until midnight and £8 after midnight.
- Refunds. If we are unable to find you a babysitter we will refund you a proportion of your membership fee for the times we are unable to meet your needs. For example, if you request ten babysitters during a quarter and we fail to find one you will be refunded 1/10th of your quarterly subscription fee. In this way you don’t pay for anything you don’t get.
- All babysitters must be re-booked and re-engaged through Coralis Childcare. In the event of a family using a babysitter introduced by us directly, or passing the details of a sitter to third parties, the family will be responsible for any associated loss of agency earnings and the family membership will be cancelled.
- Short notice bookings. A short notice booking is one that is made within 48 hours of the time the babysitter is required. We will endeavour to fulfil a short notice booking, but you will not be entitled to a refund as described above in the event that we fail to do so.
- Cancellations. If you need to cancel a booking please advise us as soon as you can to avoid inconveniencing the babysitter. If you need to cancel outside of office hours, then you must call the agency mobile number directly/leave a voicemail. In the event of a cancellation on the day, there is no refund of the booking fee. In the event of a babysitter being cancelled upon arrival, then you will need to pay the going rate for a 4 hour period.
- In case of an emergency, you must provide the agency and the babysitter with the details of 2 persons to contact.
