After graduating from Chiltern College with an NNEB Diploma and an NVQ 3 in Childcare and Education in December 1995, Corina Naish worked as a professional nanny for more than 13 years and then decided in 2007 that it was time to utilise all the knowledge and expertise relating to child care and start up a nanny agency.
Once I started my agency I was really pleased to find out that ANA existed and now I’m very proud to be a member and also on the committee, as the Events Coordinator. It is reassuring to belong to a professional organisation and can only hope that one day it will be made compulsory for every single nanny agency in the country to register and be vetted by The Association of Nanny Agencies and for all nannies to be registered and monitored throughout their careers.

Making sure your child is safe, well cared for and happy is one of the biggest concerns of any parent. It can be very stressful leaving your child in someone else’s care and this is an extremely important decision you will have to make. There are no legal requirements on a person applying to work as a child carer (please visit www.ofsted.gov.uk), so it is up to you, as parent and employer, to ensure that you are employing a person who will look after your children well.

All our registered carers have been interviewed in person in order to best assess them and their identity, references and qualifications have been thoroughly checked. We require that they hold an up to date enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check, a valid First Aid Certificate and a relevant child care qualification and experience. Also, most nannies are now Ofsted registered, which allows you as an employer to use childcare vouchers as part payment.

Parents seeking a nanny through an ANA registered agency will be safe in the knowledge that every possible check has been performed regarding the nanny’s suitability, to ensure their children will be cared for in the most professional manner. The nanny will be encouraged to be fully trained and to have the skills appropriate for the child/ren’s age group, ability and needs.
ANA is dedicated to trying to change legislation where nannies are concerned and would like to see it made compulsory for all child carers to be registered and monitored throughout their careers; also, for all nanny agencies to be regulated, following the best practice identified by ANA.
We have also been approved as a ”Recommended Agency” by the Good Nanny Agency Guide and Best Bear, after certifying that we meet their professional and ethical standards as set out in the code of practice.
Coralis was born out of 28 years of combined experience in the childcare sector. Corina Naish NNEB/NVQ3 and Ali Woof NNEB are co-owners and managers of the agency, both qualified child carers who have worked as nannies and nursery nurses. As a result we pride ourselves on having a great insight into the world of families and children and a very deep understanding of what makes the relationship between parents and nannies work successfully.
